On the 4th day that the Grand Sumo Tournament of Autumn, there was the match of Ozeki Terunofuji vs Top division wrestler Okinoumi, September 14. Okinoumi beat Terunofuji by “Sakatottari” that mean “arm bar throw counter”. Okinoumi was a 4-match winning streak from the 1st day. He beat Ozeki Kisenosato, Yokozuna Kakuryu and Yokozuna Harumafuji until the 3rd day, so he won two Yokozuna and two Ozeki.
Okinoumi’s biography is that he’s 31 years old, he was born at Shimane in 1985. he was recruited to Sumo stable master at 19 years old, and belonged to stable Hakkaku. His stage name was taken from the island of Oki that is his hometown. He became the second division wrestler in 2009, and became the top division wrestler in 2010. His best position is Sekiwake, that mean junior champion.
Will Okinoumi be able to win in this tournament? Even recently, there is some top division wrestlers that won two Yokozuna and two Ozeki. Let’s tlook at their stats.
・Takamisakari（2003) he was 9 wins and 6 losses, and he got the Outstanding performance prize.
・Yoshikaze（2015) he was 11 wins and 4 losses, and he got the Outstanding performance prize and the Technique prize.
They won two Yokozuna and two Ozeki, they couldn’t won in the tournament. But they were awarded the activity, got the Outstanding performance prize both. Then, what results will Okinoumi become? As a matter of fact, there was no top division wrestler that won two Yokozuna and two Ozeki from the 1st day. So it expecte to Okinoumi that the top division wrestler’s win since Kyokutenho in 2012.
