The Bridgestone Open 2016 of Japan PGA tour was held from October 20 to 23, at the Sodegaura Country Club in Chiba. This tournament’s organizer is Bridgestone Corporation so the winner of this tournament can participate in the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational 2017 of the US PGA Tour in the Firestone Country Club. And in this tournament, Brandt Snedeker and Bryson DeChambeau of US PGA Tour player participated as the invited player.
In the first round, Hideto Tanihara shot a 62 so he took the first place. Snedeker shot a 69. He took the 27th place and he was 7 stroke behind Tanihara. But DeChambeau hurt his back so he abstained in the 11th hole.
Tanihara shot a 69 in the second round. So his total score was 11 under, he kept the first place. In this season he has won already twice, in the Shigeo Nagashima Invitational Sega Sammy Cup and the Japan PGA Championship Nissin Cupnoodle Cup. His prize money ranking was the second place behind Yuta Ikeda, Tanihara showed her ability in the round of 2 days. Daisuke Kataoka and Kyung-Tae Kim took the 2nd place and they was 2 strokes behind Tanihara. Snedeker shot a 66 and went up to the 6th place.
This tournament was in the melee in the third round. Tadahiro Takayama played 65, so his total score was 13 under. He went up to the 1st place. Kim shot a 68, he kept the 2nd place and he was 1 stroke behind Takayama. Tanihara was card of 71 so he did not raise his score. Tanihara took the 3rd place with Kazuhiro Yamashita and they was 2 strokes behind the 1st place.
In the final round, there was a stormy again. Satoshi Kodaira played 67 and his total score was 14 under. So Kodaira won the Bridgestone Open 2016 and and it was the 4th time for him to win the Japan PGA tour tournament. His score was 75 in the first round, he was the 91th place. But he bounce back from the second round, his score was 66 and he was the 42th place in the 2nd round. In the third round his score was 62 and he went up to the 5th place, he was 3 strokes behind the 1st place.
Kyoung-Hoon Lee shot a 63 in the final round, so his total score was 13 under. He took the 2nd place following the Japan Open Golf Championship 2016. Kim played 71, so his total score was 12 under and he took the 3rd place. Takayama was card of 77 so he dropped his score. His total score was 7 under and he took the 11th place. Tanihara’s total score was 8 under and he took the 10th place. Snedeker’s total score was 5 under and he took the 25th place.
Satoshi Kodaira ’s biography is that he’s the age of 27 and he was born at Tokyo. He began playing golf from 10 years and became a professional golfer in 2010. In 2013 season, he won the JGT Championship Mori Building Cup Shishido Hills. This tournament was the Major Championships in Japan and it was the first time for him to win the Japan PGA tour tournament. After that, he won the Japan Open Golf Championship 2015, it was the second time to win the Major Championships.
Satoshi Kodaira is famous for dating with former prize money queen of the Japan LPGA tour, Miho Koga. Koga retired in 2011 season and supportes Kodaira now. She often send the advice to him in the golf course, so there might be a good advice for winning this tournament.
