Hideki Matsuyama will not play in Rio Olympic

Hideki Matsuyama, Japansese US PGA golfer, announced that not play in Rio Olympic, July 4. He is the No.1 Japanese golfer that won twice in US PGA Tour. Japan has the two berth of Men’s Golf in Rio Olympic, the top two in the world ranking has the berth. Matsuyama is 17th in the latest world ranking, and is the No.1 in Japanese men’s golfer. But he concerns to Zika fever so he decline to participate in Rio Olympic.

The 2nd ranking player in Japanese is Hideto Tanihara. He won Sega Sammy Cup in Japan PGA Tour on July 3, his latest world ranking is 84th. But he also concerns about the security of Rio, thought that does not play in the Olympic. The 3rd ranking player is Yuta Ikeda, his latest world ranking is 91th, he wants to play in Rio. And the 4th ranking player, Shingo Katayama also wants to go Rio. His latest world ranking is 103th. The Player who has the berth is determined by the world ranking of July 11.

However, Japanese woman’s players want to play in Rio everybody. Japan also has the two berth of women’s Golf in Rio Olympic, the top two in the world ranking of July 11 has the berth. Harukyo Nomura is 22th in the latest world ranking, and is the No.1 in Japanese women’s golfer. Next ranking players are Shiho Oyama(42th), Mika Miyazato(45th)and Ayaka Watanabe(46th). The four players will play on U.S. Women’s Open Championship in this week, so the contestants is determined by the result of this tournament.
